Top U.S. newspapers found in new database
Posted: January 10, 2025A.T. Still Memorial Library is happy to announce access to a new database, the U.S. Major Dailies, provided by ProQuest. Read articles from as far back as 1985 in the most respected U.S. national and regional newspapers:
- New York Times
- Washington Post
- Los Angeles Times
- Chicago Tribune
- Wall Street Journal
Whether you just want to keep up to date with the news and read the most recent articles, or need to do some research including primary sources, this database is easy to use.
Simply use the main search bar and type in your topic or term. This is for the basic search, but there is also an advanced search. Once you see your results you can limit the results by filtering along the left-hand side. These filters include source type, publication date, publication title (unless you already searched within a specific newspaper), document type, subject, and more.
Additionally, if you know you only want to search the archives of a specific newspaper, you can select one of the five listed on the main page, such as the Chicago Tribune, and then perform a search within that newspaper.
Articles are updated every morning by 8:00 a.m. if you are looking for the most recent information available through the U.S. Major Dailies database.
