Posted: May 2, 2024A.T. Still University-College for Healthy Communities’ (ATSU-CHC) Diversity Enrichment in Education Committee (DEEC) hosted its third annual Diversity Fair on April 16, 2024, on the University’s Santa Maria, California, campus.
Students from ATSU-CHC’s Central Coast Physician Assistant (CCPA) program hosted booths with information about their cultures, including the Hmong, Lebanon, Egypt, Nicaragua, Punjab India, and Assyrian Chaldean Syriac people. Assistant professor Cristina Tipei, MSPAS, PA-C, hosted her own Romania table, and many students also brought homemade traditional food, cookies, and sweets to share with their classmates.
“The experience of our unique Diversity Fair is a gift, as it is a student-led event in which students can share and educate their peers, faculty, staff, friends, and families about their cultural traditions, food, and history,” said Dot Winslow, MFA, CAPF-S, library assistant.
