Open Access Week 2023

International Open Access Week 2023 is celebrated Oct. 23-29, 2023. Open Access Week is an opportunity for the academic and research community to continue to learn about the potential benefits of open access, to share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and to help inspire wider participation in helping to make open access a new norm in scholarship and research.

This year’s theme is Community Over Collaboration. This year’s theme encourages a candid conversation about which approaches to open scholarship prioritize the best interests of the public and the academic community – and which do not.

This year, the A.T. Still Memorial Library will be celebrating Open Access Week by hosting two workshops for our faculty, students, and staff. This is a great opportunity to learn more about open access and how you can increase the visibility of your work and help accelerate the pace of medical research.

How to write and publish case reports

Join the library this Open Access Week to learn more about how to publish case reports. In this workshop, you will learn about how to use the CARE principles when writing case reports, how to publish your case reports open access for free through the library, and how to find high-quality journals to publish with.

This workshop is open to all ATSU faculty, students, and staff. It will be held over Zoom and recorded for later viewing. Please register if you would like to attend live or watch the recording.

Date and time: Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 12 p.m. PDT/2 p.m. CDT.

Sharing your work in Still ScholarWorks

Join the ATSU Library this Open Access Week to learn more about how to share your work in Still ScholarWorks, ATSU’s institutional repository. Sharing your work in our repository is a great way to make your work open access, increase the visibility of your work, and showcase your work with the university.

Marilla MacGregor, Consultant at Digital Commons, will be joining us to introduce the repository, teach you about green open access, and show you how you can share your work in Still ScholarWorks.

This workshop is open to all ATSU faculty, students, and staff. It will be held over Zoom and recorded for later viewing. Please register if you would like to attend live or watch the recording.

Date and time: Thursday, Oct. 26 at 12 p.m. PDT/2 p.m. CDT.
