Joanna Sitzmann wins Arizona Osteopathic Charities scholarship
Posted: May 5, 2017Congratulations to Joanna Sitzmann, OMS IV, winner of the Arizona Osteopathic Charities (AOC) scholarship. Sitzmann is a fourth-year student at A.T. Still University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona.
Each year, AOC awards two scholarships to osteopathic medical students. Scholarship applicants are required to submit an essay, which is reviewed by the AOC board. The winning essays are published in the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association (AOMA) Digest, and students are honored at the AOMA Annual Convention. Look for Sitzmann’s essay in the July issue of the digest.
“I am incredibly grateful to have received this award,” says Sitzmann. “Osteopathic medicine is a powerful tool in the treatment of illness and the maintenance of health. I am excited to share my passion for the profession with others. I will continue to advocate for osteopathic medicine over the next three years as a resident, and throughout my career.”
