Former NACHC chief clinical officer presents at Hero Healer luncheon

Thomas Curtin, MD, who served as chief clinical officer for the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) for seventeen years, was the guest speaker at the Hero Healer luncheon held on Oct. 31 on the Arizona campus. NACHC represents the nation’s dominate healthcare provider; the national safety-net of 1,300 community-based organizations serving 23,000,000 individuals through 9,000 clinics.
After graduating from Michigan State University, Dr. Curtin accepted a NHSC position in a rural northern Michigan CHC, where he eventually served as medical director, then executive director. He became a Board member for his health center while serving as the national association’s clinical leader.
From his position at NACHC, Dr. Curtin helped forge the partnerships we call ATSU-ASDOH and ATSU-SOMA. Since retiring from NACHC, Dr. Curtin has been drawn back to community health centers and again serves as the medical director of his community’s CHC.
