Dr. Polkey named Hometown Scholar Advocate of the Year
Posted: April 10, 2017Faith Polkey, MD, MPH, was recently named the Juan Carlos Olivares Hometown Scholar Advocate of the Year. Dr. Polkey works at Beaufort County Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services in South Carolina. She also serves as regional director of medical education for A.T. Still University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) at the health center.
Dr. Polkey was recognized as an extraordinary mentor and role model to ATSU-SOMA students, as well as a tireless advocate for the profession.
Hometown Scholars is an initiative of the National Association of Community Health Centers in partnership with ATSU. The purpose of the program is to identify and train highly effective healers who are committed to serving in America’s community health centers.
