Dr. Lohman selected for Young Investigator Award

Chelsea Lohman, PhD, ATC, CSCS, A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) assistant professor and director of anatomy curriculum and instruction, has been chosen to receive the Young Investigator Award from the journal, Spine. Spine is a leading journal in neuroscience and orthopedics and is highly respected as an international source for peer-reviewed research. Dr. Lohman was chosen for her dissertation research work.
“I am proud that we recruited Dr. Lohman prior to her completing her PhD and supported her completing this work while she was engaged in teaching here at ATSU,” said Eric Sauers, PhD, ATC, FNATA, ’97, ATSU-ASHS, professor and chair, department of interdisciplinary sciences. “She has subsequently received a Warner Grant through our internal research funding to continue this type of cadaveric research. In addition, Dr. Lohman serves as an exemplar for a young scientist that can come to ATSU with a promising research career and continue her work.”
Dr. Lohman will be presented with her award at the annual meeting of the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine in June 2015, and her research will be published in the July 2015 issue of Spine.
