AuD alum honored with award from ADA
Posted: December 8, 2015The Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) presented Eric Hagberg, AuD, ’00, with the David P. Goldstein Outstanding Audiologist Award, which recognizes an individual for promoting audiology’s transformation to a doctoral degree with the AuD as its distinctive designator.
According to the ADA, Dr. Hagberg, who is a board member of the Audiology Foundation of America, has worked tirelessly to help audiology transition to a doctoring profession. He has consistently helped audiology students recognize the importance of achieving the AuD movement through student mentoring and speaking routinely at white coat ceremonies over the years.
Dr. Hagberg is also one of the founders of the 18×18 movement, which if achieved will complete audiology’s transformation to a doctoring profession as recognized by Medicare, and he has worked non-stop since 18x18s inception to ensure that the Audiology Patient Choice Act becomes law.
