ATSU’s Mesa, Arizona, campus hosts Bucky’s 2024 Energy Trail Challenge
Posted: January 26, 2024On Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, A.T. Still University’s Mesa, Arizona, campus held Bucky’s 2024 Energy Trail Challenge, a first-of-its-kind fundraising activity for ATSU-Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health’s (ATSU-ASDOH) Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) event.
Over 200 students, faculty, and staff helped raise money for the event by walking a total of 185.33 miles along Bucky’s Energy Trail — that’s far enough to walk from Mesa to the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The funds raised for GKAS were graciously donated by an anonymous donor, who pledged to match $1 for each lap completed, up to $1,000. GKAS is an annual event held at the ATSU-ASDOH dental clinic, where dental students, faculty, staff, and alumni work together to provide local, uninsured children with free dental care.
