ATSU-SOMA takes to Arizona’s Capitol on DO Day
Posted: February 20, 2020This week, several A.T. Still University-School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) students took to Arizona’s Capitol for DO Day at the State Legislature. Students were invited for an opportunity to meet with legislators and get a glimpse of the legislative process in action. Various state representatives and senators were present to speak with the students.
“We spoke with them about the importance of graduate medical education in Arizona and how supporting more residency spots in Arizona will ensure that our graduates can stay here to support the underserved,” said Kathleen Douangchak, OMS I.
Students spoke to various representatives and senators about current bills and how they could impact patients and the osteopathic profession.
