ATSU-SOMA Staff Council donates 100 Kindness Kits to Circle the City
Posted: November 15, 2018On Nov. 1, A.T. Still University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) staff members donated 100 Kindness Kits to Circle the City, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing healthcare to people experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. Kindness Kits, which contain basic necessities like granola bars and sunscreen, are distributed by Circle the City’s mobile medical clinic. The project was organized by ATSU-SOMA’s Staff Council to advance ATSU’s mission by supporting underserved populations.
“As ATSU-SOMA staff members, our duties allow us to indirectly fulfill the University’s mission by assisting our students on their journey to become doctors,” says Brenae Maddix, clinical education coordinator. “Today, we had the opportunity to have a direct positive impact on the underserved community of those experiencing homelessness, and the reward of service to others as a team was more fulfilling than we could have imagined. We look forward to the next opportunity to serve those in need.”
