ATSU-SOMA alumnus named Resident of the Year by the Wright Center

A.T. Still University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) alumna Amandip Birdi, DO, ’16, was recently named Resident of the Year at the Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education’s innovative National Family Medicine Residency.
The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education’s innovative National Family Medicine Residency is proud to be affiliated with El Rio Community Health Center in Tucson, Arizona. This community-based and supported health center’s mission is to improve the health of its community through comprehensive, accessible, affordable quality and compassionate care.
Dr. Birdi is committed to serving underserved populations through community health programs and was very proud to return to her own community to carry out the mission of ATSU.
“Tucson is a city I have lived in since I was 12-years-old and I am thrilled to be able to return and serve my own community,” said Dr. Birdi.
Dr. Birdi was honored to be named Resident of the Year at the Wright Center.
“A philosophy I use for my work is that if I can help my colleagues and team be successful, then I, in turn, can be successful too. Being a part of a community and reaching out to others is something I have been raised with through my family and religion. It is an important part of how I practice. Being recognized in such a big way was a huge honor,” noted Dr. Birdi.
