In celebration of A.T. Still University’s (ATSU) 125h year, Truman State University’s (Truman) 150th year, and the City of Kirkville’s 175th year, all three entities partnered together for a Kirksville Community Thank You Dinner.
The event was held at Truman’s campus on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, and included a free dinner, live music, and many prizes for those in attendance.
More than 500 people packed Truman’s campus to celebrate the event. There were performances from Truman State University’s singing groups – True Men and Minor Detail, and they were joined by ATSU’s student organization and singing group – MEDleys.
ATSU’s Bucky and Truman’s Spike were in attendance and were joined by the City of Kirksville’s new mascot, Kirk the Bluebird.
“When our students come to ATSU, they come for an education, but they leave with a family. A big part of that is this wonderful community in Kirksville,” said ATSU President Craig M. Phelps, DO, ’84. “We are honored to have our campus in the city of Kirksville.”
