ATSU-KCOM students receive NOWPA award

Award recipients Alyssa Nelson (left) and Mallory Dameron (right) with ATSU-KCOM Dean Margaret Wilson

On Thursday, March 29, A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) Dean Margaret Wilson, DO, ’82, presented Mallory Dameron, OMS I, and Alyssa Nelson, OMS I, with the Dovin & Thorpe Women’s Leadership Endowment Award. The financial award is presented annually to a first-year female student who has demonstrated an interest in women’s health issues and who actively promotes the advancement of women. Both ladies were honored for their advocacy work with women and their contributions to the National Osteopathic Women Physicians Association (NOWPA).

“I am so grateful for this scholarship that will help pay my educational expenses and allow me to continue my education to earn a medical degree,” says Dameron. “This scholarship will help me pursue my dream of becoming a physician and allow me to continue to empower women and support my community.”
