ATSU hosts FEMA readiness training

A.T. Still University (ATSU) recently held Federal Emergency Management Agency emergency preparedness training for employees and community members on its Arizona campus. The purpose of the training is to prepare participants to “create effective plans for their agencies and jurisdictions using an approach that includes the whole community.” The ATSU team identified areas to address within operations and facilities. Moving forward, the core planning team will meet every other month.
“This important training allowed several members of the campus community to work in teams to identify our readiness in the event of a regional or national emergency,” says Ted Wendel, PhD, senior vice president of strategic initiatives and planning. “Preparation like this is just one of the steps we must take to be sure that our campus is ready in the event of an unexpected emergency.”
