ATSU-CHC students, faculty, staff hold day of action in honor of Cesar Chavez Day

ATSU-CHC CCPA program students, faculty, and staff donated blood as part of a day of action in honor of Cesar Chavez Day.

A.T. Still University-College for Health Communities (ATSU-CHC) Central Coast Physician Assistant (CCPA) program students, faculty, and staff recently held a day of action in honor of Cesar Chavez Day.

CCPA partnered with Vitalant, a nonprofit blood donation organization, to donate 20 units of blood, which will help roughly 50 patients in the Santa Maria, California, area.

Additionally, volunteers assembled 200 sunscreen kits, including bandanas, sunscreen, electrolyte packs, nutritional guide resources, and personalized notes written in Spanish, to be delivered to area migrant farmworkers. First-year CCPA student Cristina Musch-Hernandez also gave a presentation.

In all, nearly 60 students, faculty, and staff members participated in the event.
