ATSU-CGHS alumna named dean of Berkeley College School of Health Studies

A.T. Still University-College of Graduate Health Studies (ATSU-CGHS) alumna Jenny Sena, DHSc, ’22, MS, PA-C, has been named the newest dean of the Berkeley College School of Health Studies, effective Jan. 9, 2023.

Dr. Sena, a graduate of ATSU-CGHS’ Doctor of Health Sciences (DHSc) online program, is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, New York State Society of Physician Assistants, and New Jersey Society of Physician Assistants. 

Throughout her professional career as a PA, she has worked in emergency medicine, pediatrics, urgent care, and employee health. For the last decade she has worked in higher education, holding positions such as professor, academic coordinator, director of clinical education, and more. 

She received her master’s of science and bachelor’s of science in microbiology from Wagner College in Staten Island, New York, and also received her PA certification from Bayley Seton Hospital in Staten Island, New York. 

In a press release from the school, Marianne Vakalis, EdD, interim provost and dean, Berkeley College School of Professional Studies, said, “Dr. Sena brings a wealth of expertise to help prepare the next generation of leaders in nursing and allied health fields. Her commitment to excellence ensures that our students are well prepared to enter the workforce during this critical time in healthcare.”
