Posted: September 27, 2011ATSU had four teams participate in the 2nd annual Bowl for Brain Injury to support the Brain Injury Association of Arizona (BIAAZ) on Sept. 24. More than $100,000 was raised at four bowling lanes across the state. The ATSU teams included 17 students and five faculty and staff members.
Sarah Allender, OT, ’12, led the Occupational Therapy (OT) student team, while Athletic Training (AT) students Trevor Rice, AT, ’13, and Steven St. Thomas, AT, ’12, captained the two AT student teams.
ATSU Associate Professor of Athletic Training and BIAAZ Board Member, Tamara Valovich McLeod, Ph.D., ATC, FNATA, stated that the support from ATSU for this event over the past two years has been phenomenal.
“ATSU has stepped up to be an integral part of the event,” said Dr. McLeod. “We had student and faculty participation and sponsorship. Institutional Advancement supported us by donating raffle items and the ATSU Memorial Library Staff assisted in printing posters. I am thankful to all for their support!”
