ATSU-ASHS professor speaks at conference in Taiwan
Posted: October 3, 2024Kenny Lam, ScD, ATC, FNATA, professor of clinical research, Department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences at A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS), was the keynote speaker for a joint conference hosted by the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at National Taiwan Normal University and the Taiwan Institute of Sports Science.
Dr. Lam delivered his address, entitled, “Transforming Athletic Training with Data: From Documentation to Evidence-Based Practice,” on Aug. 25, 2024, in Taipei, Taiwan, to an audience of athletic trainers, physicians, researchers, and data scientists. He shared his expertise in health information technology, healthcare informatics, practice-based research, and experiences as the director of the Athletic Training Practice-Based Research Network (AT-PBRN).
“It was a humbling and exciting experience to speak at the conference because it validated the important work that we are doing within the AT-PBRN and recognizes that our work has been impactful professionally, nationally, and internationally,” Dr. Lam said.
“I was also extremely proud to represent my colleagues within the Department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences and Department of Athletic Training, who have been instrumental to the overall success of the AT-PBRN.”
