ATSU-ASHS OT students, faculty visit AZ State Capitol

Students and faculty from A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences’ (ATSU-ASHS) Occupational Therapy (OT) department visited the Arizona State Capitol on Feb. 13, 2023, for the Arizona Occupational Therapy Association’s (ArizOTA) “Lunch on the Lawn” event, where they had an opportunity to interact with and educate community members and lawmakers on the OT profession.

At this potluck-style event, students set up booths on the Arizona Senate lawn in Phoenix, where they showcased educational posters, OT tools, adaptive equipment, and more as a way to demonstrate some of the work OTs do.

Attendees also learned about several healthcare-related policies being debated at the state Legislature, and had the opportunity to tour the legislative chambers.
