ATSU-ASHS Occupational Therapy department members present at ASHT annual meeting

A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) Occupational Therapy department faculty members had the recent opportunity to present at the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT) annual meeting.

Jennifer Radziak OTD, OTR/L, CHT, Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program director and assistant professor, and Kat Bauer, OTD, MS, OTR/L, ’23, instructor, and graduate of ATSU-ASHS’ Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, visited St. Louis on Sept. 29, 2024, where they were invited to give a presentation on the department’s hands-on learning elective course on hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. This course is unique in that it features only engaging activities and no lecture-style teaching.

“I asked Kat to present with me because she took the course and was able to provide the student’s perspective on how this class has helped people secure jobs in the hand therapy setting,” Dr. Radziak said.

The ASHT annual meeting brings together physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists who treat clients with hand and upper extremity diagnoses.
