ATSU-ASHS’ Dr. Tamara McLeod inducted into NAP Athletic Training Academy
Posted: April 15, 2023Tamara Valovich McLeod, PhD, ATC, FNATA, FNAK, FNAP, chair and director of A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences’ (ATSU-ASHS) Athletic Training department has been inducted as a Distinguished Scholar Fellow in the National Academies of Practice (NAP) Athletic Training Academy.
NAP is a nonprofit organization which strives to advance interprofessional education, scholarship, research, practice, and public policy within multiple health professions. Members of NAP work to improve access to affordable, quality healthcare for all, and are distinguished healthcare practitioners and scholars who are elected by their peers.
The Athletic Training Academy works to support AT research and policy, advocate for lifelong learning among its network of members, and much more.
Dr. McLeod was welcomed into NAP during its 2023 annual meeting and forum on April 1, 2023 in Washington. She is also a fellow of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and the National Academy of Kinesiology.
Dr. McLeod’s induction was the latest in a series of recognitions earned by ATSU’s Athletic Training program.
Kenneth Lam, ScD, ATC, FNATA, professor of clinical research in ATSU-ASHS’ Interdisciplinary Health Sciences department, has been awarded the 2023 Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer award and the 2023 Athletic Trainer Service award by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
Additionally, ATSU-ASHS Athletic Training associate professor Cailee Welch-Bacon, PhD, ATC, has been named a fellow of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
