Altruism
Posted: March 15, 2016
Through countless acts of altruism, A.T. Still University schools, colleges, and programs are constantly shaping their communities in positive ways. In this issue of Still Magazine, you will experience many student-, faculty-, and staff-led volunteer initiatives along with meaningful works of our alumni and trustees.
You will meet ASDOH alumna DezBaa Damon-Mallette, DMD, ’07, who shares her calling to provide oral healthcare to underserved Native persons in remote locations from Alaska to New Mexico. She will inspire you, your family, and your friends. Also, KCOM alumnus Peter Baik, DO, ’05, discusses the roles of technology, engineering, and robotics in patient care delivery.
You will recognize ATSU’s impact on our Kirksville, Mesa, and St. Louis neighborhoods. From Special Olympics to St. Louis Dental Education and Oral Health Clinic opening, the positive effect on underserved communities and populations is heartwarming.
We would like to hear more of the wonderful accomplishments of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni. If you or someone you know from ATSU is making a difference, please let us know via email to president@atsu.edu.
Yours in service,
Craig M. Phelps, DO, ’84, president
