I first learned about ATSU’s post-professional DPT program through the Foreign Credentialing Commission of Physical Therapy (FCCPT). To become a licensed therapist in the United States, foreign-trained physical therapists must verify their academic credentials through the FCCPT. If academic deficiencies are found, FCCPT recommends taking classes at universities such as ATSU.

Although the FCCPT required that I only take three courses, I decided to enroll in the entirety of ATSU’s post-professional program because I liked the concept of ATSU’s self-paced online program. The program doesn't require specific times to be online, which makes it easy to complete assignments whenever I make the time after work or on weekends.

In the process of finding the right university for me, I reached out to several different schools. ATSU stood out with their excellent student services. ATSU’s coordinators Joe Copalman and Whitney Marrs supported me every step and quickly responded to questions. They made it easy for me to navigate through the application process and offered to front-load my program with the courses I needed to become a licensed physical therapist. ATSU’s support was remarkable from the start.

It was clear to me that ATSU was the right school. Compared to other DPT programs, the post-professional program at ATSU seemed affordable. ATSU also offers the option to pay in increments, which makes it easier to pay.

Although I never dreamed of becoming a doctor of physical therapy, I’ve always strived to achieve the highest level of excellence in academic education. I enjoy being part of the program because I can incorporate what I learn in my daily practice. The decision to enroll in ATSU’s post-professional program was ultimately determined by the need of taking courses to become a licensed physical therapist. ATSU made my career as a physical therapist possible. Without their classes, I could not be a licensed PT in the States.

I enjoy classes with practical content the most. Integumentary physical therapy, pediatric physical therapy, and gender health were some of my favorite courses so far. ATSU taught me how to navigate research articles, making it easier to navigate through research platforms and selecting the latest evidence-based treatment options for my patients.

ATSU offers a great post-professional DPT program. Their courses are self-paced, allowing me to work full-time while completing the program. I usually put time aside for school-related work in the evenings or weekends. I prefer taking one class at a time, but the curriculum is flexible which allows students to take several classes at a time. ATSU’s coordinators are very responsive and supportive of making last-minute changes to my schedule. I love utilizing ATSU’s highly proficient University Writing Center. Excellent staff proofread my assignments and return them to me within 24 hours.
