With the move to a single accreditation system, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) is in the process of adding new osteopathic members to its leadership team and to each of its review committees. We are pleased to announce that in February 2015, Still OPTI’s academic officer was appointed to the ACGME’s Institutional Review Committee (IRC). Richard J. LaBaere II, DO, MPH, FAODME, Associate Dean of Postgraduate Education at ATSU-KCOM and OPTI Academic Officer, will undergo IRC training in April. Dr. LaBaere will observe the activity of the IRC in May, after which his work as a voting committee member will begin. Still OPTI looks forward to the extensive education this opportunity will create to better prepare us to serve each of our members in the new accreditation system.
