Clinical Presentation

• Fever Blunted in 20 to 68 percent

• Cough, often weak or non-productive

• May exacerbate chronic disease

  • CHF an important example

• Lung Consolidation often not found

• Diagnosis: fever, altered mental status, cough, & a new infiltrate on chest X-ray
