Pneumonia
Criteria for Hospitalization of Patients with Pneumonia
- Elderly ()
- Significant comorbidity (kidney, heart, lung)
- Leukopenia not attributable to a known disease
- Staph. aureus, gram-negative bacilli, anaerobes
- Suppurative complications (arthritis, meningitis)
- Failure of outpatient management
- Inability to take oral medications
- Tachypnea, tachycardia, hypotension, hypoxemia, altered mental status
