This is not the correct etiological agent of Helen's condition.
This dimorphic fungus (yeast at 37oC and mycelial phase at room temperature)
is endemic in the southwestern states in the United States. Helen has no
history of travel to the southwest. The pneumonia resulting from this organism
can be chronic. Histological slides of this organism reveal a spherule
form of this fungus is present in tissues. This spherule form of Coccidioides
