Atypical Pneumonia

This is not the correct diagnosis. Atypical pneumonia rarely results in the production of purulent sputum with hemoptysis. Chest radiographs do not usually result in consolidations but rather infiltrates (cobweb like appearance). Similarities between Helen's illness and atypical pneumonia include low-grade fever and the less toxic appearance of patient. Sometimes you learn more by being wrong.
