Think back to your basic sciences (if you weren't asleep)…

Legionella sp. Would produce a productive cough with high fever and bradycardia. The patient is often very toxic and incoherent. The blood CPK levels would have been increased (did you check them?). A Gram stain of the bronchoalveolar lavage would have been shown Gram negative rods or nothing. If you'd done a Dieterle silver stain of the bronchoalveolar lavage you also would have seen rod shaped organisms.
