Think back to your basic sciences (if you weren't asleep)…
Chlamydia pneumoniae would have produced a more prominent cough. True, the cough would be non-productive, but no organisms would be seen in the bronchoalveolar lavage since Chlamydia pneumoniae is an intracellular pathogen.
