Wonderful!. To avoid further damage to your patient's heart Sally must rest in bed for at least 4-6 weeks. No strenuous activity should occur before 2 to 3 months from the onset of symptoms. Patients with carditis, as in Sally's case, should rest until signs of cardiac inflammation subside.
