Being a student in ATSU's Doctor of Athletic Training (DAT) program has been nothing short of amazing. From the engaging online coursework to the in-person Winter Institute, where outstanding, groundbreaking professionals and professors surrounded me, this journey has been life-changing professionally, educationally, and personally. My path at A.T. Still University began with earning my Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT), and from there, I transitioned straight into the DAT program. I wanted something that would push my boundaries, challenge my thinking, and elevate me both as a person and a healthcare provider, and that’s exactly what I’ve found here.

We recently completed the Winter Institute, and it exceeded every expectation. The people. The connections. The faculty. The professors. The staff. Everyone treats you like family. The Institute covered nearly every aspect of athletic training and beyond, with hands-on labs that were not only eye-opening but truly exhilarating. I truly felt like a kid in a candy store the entire time. I could go on and on about my journey from the MSAT program to the DAT, but I’ll keep it simple: My experience especially after the Winter Institute has only fueled my passion to do more within the profession. It has motivated me to advocate for athletic training, dive deeper into research, and get more involved with organizations like CAATE, BOC, and NATA. If you want to elevate yourself in the field of athletic training, this is the way to do it.

One quote from a faculty member during the Winter Institute perfectly captures the spirit of ATSU: “As you leave this Winter Institute and return to where you’re from, we want you to know that you are part of the ATSU family now. If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us.” If that doesn’t sum it all up, I don’t know what does. So, I'd say.... take the chance!
