DAT Life Moment | Kimberly M.

Shadow

Being a clinical practice athletic trainer with a preceptor role made me want to pursue a Doctor of Athletic Training (DAT) in order to teach in the future. I found a love for being a preceptor and helping students along their journey to be an athletic trainer. I learned about A.T. Still University (ATSU) through some of our academic staff who completed their DAT with the Arizona School of Health Sciences’ program. Alumni had nothing but kind words to share about ATSU’s faculty and the DAT program.

After looking into the DAT program at A.T Still University, it seemed like a perfect fit. Developing relationships with students and faculty of ATSU has been a joy. The Winter Institute allowed me to match faces with people behind the screen. Everyone was welcoming and helpful.

Discussing topics that have real life value for the future of athletic training was a key part of the program. The DAT program pushes me to think critically in my everyday practice. Concepts ATs are learning in classes in this program can translate immediately into practice.
