DAT Life Moment | Christopher D.

Shadow

The pursuit of my Doctor of Athletic Training (DAT) degree came 15 years after the completion of my master’s degree. Something deep inside told me that I could still learn more, and I wanted to find a way to get additional value out of athletic training as a profession. The DAT program was the perfect way for me to both continue my job in the collegiate setting and easily find time to enhance my knowledge and understanding of what it means to be a more effective athletic trainer.

This motivation was deeply tested in the Spring of 2020 after finishing the first block of the DAT program. In May of 2020, while just starting my second block of the program, I lost my mother to the COVID-19 pandemic. On her last day, I had promised her that I would complete the degree. This enabled me to resume a high level of motivation to do well in her memory and allowed me to complete this degree.

The flexibility of A.T. Still University’s online DAT program allows people to complete assignments on their schedule. Anyone wishing to pursue their DAT should honestly look in to this program. ATSU’s DAT enables students to genuinely pursue their dreams and provide the athletic community with even higher care, allowing athletes to return to the sports they love.
