Dental School of the Future
A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is dedicated to producing dentistry leaders who are committed to increasing access to oral healthcare for underserved populations. As the first dental school in Arizona, it’s our goal to graduate dentists who have a deep understanding of and a genuine desire to become compassionate, community-minded healthcare providers who serve populations in need.
ATSU-ASDOH’s Doctor of Dental Medicine program features an innovative curriculum that includes state-of-the-art facilities and simulation technology, service learning experiences, and leadership training. ATSU-ASDOH’s curriculum interweaves core disciplines into the human systems, preclinical, and dental sciences with a strong emphasis on the application of clinical medicine and clinical dentistry. Students spend their first and second year in didactic learning by studying basic sciences and principles of patient care and perform dental simulation exercises in the Mesa campus simulation clinic. In our new curriculum the first and second year students are transitioning earlier to the clinic and involved with patient care in the Main Clinic. During the third and fourth years, students shift to the clinical environment by providing patient care to underserved populations in community clinics. Besides there is a continuous revision for the basic science application to clinical dentistry.
